LUTHERAN WOMEN IN MISSION The Lutheran Women's Missionary League
is the official women's auxiliary of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. For over 65 years, the LWML has focused on affirming
each woman's relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission
ministries and to support global missions. The purpose of the LWML is to develop and maintain a greater mission consciousness
among the women of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod through Mission Education, Mission Inspiration, and Mission Service,
and to gather funds for mission grants. The national body
meets in convention in odd-numbered years. For information, visit their web site at http://www.lwml.org. LWML Districts initiate programs and projects as well as implement those of the national body. We are affiliated
with the Florida-Georgia District LWML. For information, visit their web site at http://www.flgalwml.com A zone is a group of societies and individual members in the same geographic area united to promote the objectives
of the LWML. The East Central Georgia Zone is comprised of the LWML units at Our Redeemer, Augusta;
Hope, Milledgeville; Trinity, Savannah; St. Paul's, Statesboro; and Mt. Calvary, Warner Robins. Our Zone President,
Karen Bowers, is a member of Our Redeemer, Augusta. She can be reached at karen-bowers@hotmail.com. Societies/units are the foundation upon which the LWML is built. The entire LWML begins with society
members at the congregational level. Membership is available to any woman who is a communicant member of a Lutheran
Church-Missouri Synod congregation. Our Redeemer LWML's mission is to assist each woman of the congregation to affirm
her relationship with the triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of Augusta and the
world. We serve the Lord with Gladness, foster Christian fellowship and participate in the ministry of our congregation.
We provide the official publication of the national LWML, "Lutheran Women's Quarterly" to our members.
Extra copies are available for those who are interested. The FL/GA District's ‘Evangel' newsletter is now published
in electronic format (e-Evangel) Sign
up to receive the e-Evangel by contacting: flgaevangel@yahoo.com with your name, church, zone and email. Our unit holds regular meetings with
an LWML emphasis and the in-gathering of mites. We have a love offering to help meet our local expenses and a love offering
to help support our local mission project - the Downtown Cooperative Church Ministries (DCCM). SOCIETY OFFICERS

regularly in our mite boxes - is sent to the District office where 75% is kept for District mission grants and programs and
25% is sent to the National LWML for their mission grants and programs. These mites are collected with prayers for the

Local Mission Project: The Downtown Cooperative Church
Ministries - Feeding the hungry in our community. This non-profit organization purchases canned goods from Golden Harvest Food Bank and distributes bags to about 200
families a week. In addition to financial support, we encourage our women to volunteer at the site. Ruth Ann Nolde coordinates
our sponsorship and volunteers. Our
Card Ministry: We send cards to women for birthdays, illness, and other life-events; to military personnel;
to singles; to college students; and to shut-ins. We encourage all our members to send cards to the congregation's shut-ins.
LaVon Dunker sends the military cards, Judy Diebold sends the birthday cards to members, and Bonnie McClain sends cards to
singles and shut-ins. Annual
Rummage Sale: The money we make from the annual rummage sale assists us with all our
mission outreach projects and supplements our expenses to the rallies, conventions, and retreats. Other
Group Projects: We provide refreshments for the Sunday fellowship hours, Lenten and Advent lunches, make banners for confirmands,
gather food and assemble Thanksgiving baskets, purchase kitchen equipment, clean the church and contribute to an in-gathering
