The Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost

 

ALTAR FLOWERS - One vase is given to the glory of God by Walter & Susan Edmunds in loving memory of her father, William V. Jowers. One vase is given to the glory of God by Dale & Christel Groenenboom on the occasion of Christels 80th birthday today. 

 

LENTEN LUNCHES - There is a sign-up sheet on the table in the walkway if you would like to help provide soup, sandwiches or dessert for one of our Lenten lunches. Please see Marlene Wedell if you need more information. 


WALK WITH JESUS:  An opportunity to get some physical activity as well as some time together as part of Gods family. We will gather at 8:30am on Saturday mornings at the Savannah Rapids Pavilion for a devotion/prayer and head out to walk for 45 minutes. Set your own pace and/or walk with the group. The group will meet each Saturday through the season of Lent.   

75th ANNIVERSARY SHIRTS - Toward the end of February the LWML will be selling tee shirts and polo shirts in commemoration of our 75th anniversary. We will have sample shirts, a price list, and order forms after church services for several weeks. These shirts will provide us with a wonderful way to celebrate Gods blessings to Our Redeemer. 

 

FEBRUARY LWML BOARD MEETING -  The LWML Board will meet after the 11:00 a.m. service today in Room 309. We will plan the program for March, make final decisions on the shirt order, and discuss other projects. After the meeting we will work on the Confirmation Banners.

ALTAR FLOWERS & SERVICE ASSISTANTS - Open dates for those wanting to serve as greeters, ushers, elders, and acolytes as well as those wanting to provide flowers for the Altar each Sunday. Look at each tab for more information.

 

FELLOWSHIP SNACKS - Coffee hour is held on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays. You would provide the snacks/juice and make the coffee. If you have questions on how to do this, please speak to either Sandy Boysworth or Lois Axson.

BIBLE STUDY OPPORTUNITIES

Time in the Word of God is beneficial in so many ways and as a bonus, you get to hang out with other Christians too!

Weds. AM Study Obadiah, Jonah, & Micah begins at 9:30am in the ORLC Library.

 

Thursday Ladies Study Begins at 9:30am in room 309.

 

Thursday Evening West County Small Group   Topical study using modern day analogies to connect people to God's Word. Held on the first Thursday of each month at the home of Paul & Diane James.

 

Friday Bible Study Begins at 6:30am in room 309.

 

Sunday Morning Adult Class at 9:40am 1, 2, & 3 John led by Bill Bowers

 

Sunday Morning Adult Class at 9:40am Witness, Mercy, Life Together Led by Greg & Fay Murray


PARENTING/YOUNG COUPLES & SINGLES GROUP: Today we will begin offering a class for you on Sunday mornings during Christian Education hour. The first series will look at Margin, how to bring balance into ones life. This group will be led by Diane Holland. If you have any questions please contact DCE Lamar (706) 733-6076.

VBS 2012 - Vacation Bible School will be offered the week of June 10th.  Vacation Bible School will be offered the week of June 10th. Please see Diane Hess or DCE Lamar for more information.


LAMP MINISTRY -   The third grade class at ORLC is collecting mittens, gloves, scarves and hats or knitted hats called touges for children in Canada and Alaska. The last time we collected these much needed items for warmth, they went to Island Lake, Manitoba. The collection box is downstairs in our Sunday School wing. Through Lamp Ministry we can reach children taking the light of Christ to the ends of the Earth. Thank you in advance for your help.


THE BOARD OF STEWARDSHIP  would like to thank all of those who have already completed our Skills and Talents survey. The information provided will be used to populate our Shepherd's Staff membership database and identify the interest of potential volunteers. For those who have yet to complete a form, we would like to encourage you to do so. More importantly, we would pray that you find some way to become more involved.


THE BOARD OF ELDERS   will be sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, March 4 at 9:30 a.m. to benefit the DCCM Food Pantry. There is a sign-up sheet on the table in the walkway. Please see Mac Johnson for more information.
